Long awaited update...

It's been quite some time since I've posted an update to our family blog. With the transition from Maryland to Virginia and balancing our schedules I've had little time to update our post. I'm going to make an effort to start writing each week.

We are enjoying being in Reston and having the amenities of the city life, but miss Calvert County. Jack was enrolled in a music class down the street and truly enjoyed it. He liked watching from afar. Not too big on interacting with the other kids. He's defiantly shy in public settings, but turns into a little ham at home. The past 15 months of our life have been packed full of excitement and change and we could not be happier.

More updates to come!!

Cherry Blossoms

Last week we decided to take a trip to DC to visit the Cherry Blossoms. I could not believe that after almost 30 years of living in the area this would be the first time I was attending this annual event. Luckily Jack only had to wait 8 1/2 months for his first trip to the beautiful blossoms. With GiGi and Uncle Rob in tow, we made our way around the mall. Jack was a complete angel and quite intrigued by the flowers. While we were there we ended up running into Charley's grandfather. What are the odds of that? It was great to be able to get a picture of him and Jack together at this event. I'm looking forward to next years blooms and hoping that it's something we can attend each year.

Sleepless in Maryland

So I know it's been a long time since I've posted any updates. Can I blame pure exhaustion and living in a dream state for the past month. Jack was sick several weeks ago. He came down with his first virus which then turned into an ear infection. Prior to this we had started sleep training. Now let me just preface that Jack has never been a sleeper. So this whole training stuff is not his cup of tea.

When he came down with this virus I had to let him sleep in our bed again. If I put him in his crib he would cry and then begin to cough, and then more and more phlegm would develop...fun! So, once he recovered it was back to training camp. We are a good week in and the boy has not let up. I just love all the books and stories of people who let their kids cry for a couple of nights and then it was silent nights from the 4th night on. We have to be on night 7 and Jack cried for a good hour and a half last night. I hate it. He gets so pissed. The minute I walk in to calm him down he stops crying, and the second I walk out he starts in again.

So if you see some story on the news about a babbling women found walking down the streets in her pajamas.....it's a good chance it's yours truly. I've gone from Norstroms fashion to Old Navy pajama pants, from highlighted hair to rat nest hair, and from cute red painted toes to ....I won't say. How do you get too mad though at a face like this. You have to love them.
